Getting Here

Porthtowan is on the north Cornwall coast roughly halfway between the resorts of Newquay and St Ives.  The village is an easy 10 minute drive from the Chiverton Cross roundabout on the main A30 through Cornwall.  Seashells is easy to find in a quiet location near the beach - more specific directions are provided when you book.  There is allocated parking right outside, a rarity for beach resorts such as Porthtowan.

By public transport...

If you prefer to arrive by public transport, there are train stations at both Truro and Redruth, from which you can catch a bus or take a short (15 min) taxi ride to the apartment.  Once in the village there is so much to enjoy (the beach, surf school, cliff walks, long lazy lunches/dinners at the Unicorn or Blue Bar) that you could easily spend a week here without a car.  If you feel the need to go further afield, regular buses serve surrounding areas such as Redruth/Cambourne, Perranporth, Newquay, Truro and St Ives.

From mainland Europe...

If you are coming from mainland Europe, we are about 1.5 hours from the nearest ferry port at Plymouth, which offers 6 hour crossings from Roscoff on the French coast, or 8 hour overnight crossings if you prefer.  We are also about 40 minutes from Newquay Airport.
